Vacancy: GH, Program Manager, India: Project HOPE

Location: New Delhi, India

Job Description:

Provide overall leadership, direction, management to all Project HOPE programs in India. Supervision, management and coordination of HOPE’s Programs in India to assure administrative support for programs, coordination of education program components including planning, implementation and evaluation and contract/networking with counterparts and appropriate Indian and US agencies. Identify new business opportunities to expand the program portfolio for Project HOPE in India.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead, direct, and manage the project team in the design, operational planning, activities implementation, management, supervision and monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of all programs in India under the overall direction of Project HOPE Regional Director.

2. Provide direct technical direction and leadership to the project team, participating in activities of the project as appropriate as implementer (e.g. training, surveys, materials design, data analysis, etc) consistent with officeholder’s relevant technical skills.

3. Manage the relations between Project HOPE and local partners, government officials and donor representatives for smooth implementation of program activities.

4. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, directing, managing, and supporting project staff including consultants, in accordance with Project HOPE Human Resource Management Guidelines.

5. Supervise and be accountable for the management and accounting of the funds and financial activities of the projects.

6. Maintain excellent communication with Project HOPE headquarters and regional team by e-mail, telephone, and other channels, informing Project HOPE about issues in implementation, progress, problems, project relations, and any other aspects relative to the success of the project. Submit regular reports on program performance of all projects as directed; be accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of these reports.

7. Provide guidance on policies and procedures.

8. Identify potential new educational and humanitarian assistance opportunities that utilize Project HOPE’s technical expertise and identify funding sources to support such programs.
Support the management of newly acquired/awarded programs

9. Be aware of and advise Project HOPE senior management of all applicable laws and employment regulations pertaining to India operations and ensure compliance of laws and regulations.

•Minimum five years working on public health projects preferably in India.
•Proficiency in English. Hindi language skills preferred.
•MPH Degree or equivalent experience preferable.
•Experience in the area of Diabetes Education preferable.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Experience in financial management and in preparing and monitoring budgets.
•Strong program management skills including strategic planning and work plan development.
•Strong writing and analytical skills.
•Commitment to providing high quality support and services to Project HOPE's field programs and local partners.
•Ability to travel internationally required.
