Take action against violators of Public Health Act

North Goa collector Mihir Vardhan has directed health officials to initiate action against all those involved in violating the Public Health Act. He suggested that, if required, steps should be initiated to strengthen the Act.

While chairing a meeting of the district coordination committee for vector-borne diseases, held at the North Goa collectorate in Panaji, Vardhan emphasized on health education to control vector-borne diseases.

Dr Deepak Kabadi, deputy director, national vector-borne diseases control programme, presented the overall report on vector-borne diseases and stated that malaria cases have increased in the state due to change in climate.

He also appealed to non health organizations and NGOs to work together to control these diseases.

Health officers from various primary health centres and community health centres shared the problems faced in controlling such disease in their areas.

Vardhan directed health officers to organize separate meetings with different departments next month to discuss specific problems related to controlling vector-borne diseases.
