Vacancy: ADVISOR – POLICY, Ipas, New Delhi

Ipas (www.ipas.org), a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, is working to increase women’s ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights and reduce unsafe abortion-related maternal mortality and morbidity. Ipas’s India country program extends to ten states and has over the last ten years worked towards strengthening training systems, service delivery of comprehensive abortion care services and advocacy initiatives to increase women’s access to safe abortions.

Ipas seeks to hire Advisor – Policy, New Delhi to guide and implement policy and advocacy activities of Ipas India Country Office. The position reports to Country Director, Ipas India and is responsible to provide inputs for design of policy initiatives and to design and implement program advocacy strategies to improve women’s ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights, with a specific focus on abortion care.

The position is also responsible to:
·         Engage with Government institutions and other relevant organizations, to design and implement appropriate advocacy initiatives and support relevant regulatory frameworks.
·         Represent Ipas India at national, regional and international conferences and events as an important aspect of program advocacy strategy.
·         Engage with media for advocacy on program issues and to share complete and correct information on issues related to women’s reproductive health.

Candidates suitable for this position:
·         Master‘s degree in relevant discipline.
·         10 years and above relevant work experience in areas of health policy and advocacy.
·         Experience of working with the Government health system, women groups, media, and other stakeholders.
·         Experience in working with implementing agencies to design and implement advocacy strategies.
·         Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel.
