Vacancy: Senior Research Assistant/Research Analysts, IFPRI

 
Job Summary:

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is embarking on 2 large nutrition-related research projects in South Asia/India, and seeks 3 (three)Senior Research AssistantS (SRA)/ Research Analysts(RA) to work with senior researchers from the Poverty, Health and Nutrition Division at IFPRIs New Delhi Office. The successful candidate/s will support applied program and policy research on nutrition in India and South Asia. Job duties could include quantitative and qualitative research, as well as writing reports.

This position is a one-year, fixed-term, renewable appointment, based at IFPRI’s regional office in New Delhi, India.  Final grade level will be determined by number of years of relevant work experience.


Essential Duties:

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Analyzing data on nutrition, agriculture, and poverty
  • Assisting in field surveys and other program assessments
  • Assisting in the design and implementation of field-based qualitative/ethnographic studies
  • Conducting literature reviews, and Internet searches.
  • Preparing presentations and presentation materials.
  • Providing research and analytical support for workshops and conference


 Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Nutrition, Health Economics, Public Health, or related field.
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently, and pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with large data sets and statistical packages such as Stata
  • Demonstrated ability to write and edit papers
  • Good interpersonal skills, high energy, ability to multi-task
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including to rural areas


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience with research organizations
  • Prior field-based experience with surveys
  • Data management, data analysis
