Job Summary:
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is embarking on 2 large nutrition-related research projects in South Asia/India, and seeks 3 (three)Senior Research AssistantS (SRA)/ Research Analysts(RA) to work with senior researchers from the Poverty, Health and Nutrition Division at IFPRIs New Delhi Office. The successful candidate/s will support applied program and policy research on nutrition in India and South Asia . Job duties could include quantitative and qualitative research, as well as writing reports.
This position is a one-year, fixed-term, renewable appointment, based at IFPRI’s regional office in New Delhi , India
Essential Duties:
Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analyzing data on nutrition, agriculture, and poverty
- Assisting in field surveys and other program assessments
- Assisting in the design and implementation of field-based qualitative/ethnographic studies
- Conducting literature reviews, and Internet searches.
- Preparing presentations and presentation materials.
- Providing research and analytical support for workshops and conference
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Nutrition, Health Economics, Public Health, or related field.
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Ability to work independently, and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to work with large data sets and statistical packages such as Stata
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit papers
- Good interpersonal skills, high energy, ability to multi-task
- Willingness and ability to travel, including to rural areas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience with research organizations
- Prior field-based experience with surveys
- Data management, data analysis
